How You Can Help
Volunteers
Volunteers are at the heart of the literacy effort.
To inquire
about current opportunities, contact the Bremerton office
by telephone
or e-mail.
Tutoring
Literacy Council trains volunteers to help English-speaking
adults improve their reading and writing and foreign-born adults
learn to communicate in English. Many students need help meeting a
personal goal such as passing the driver's license test or earning
a permit for work. Tutors also assist in GED classes, the Computer
Learning Center, and "Talk Time" for ESL students.
Schedule Tight?
In-kind Donations If your schedule won't permit volunteering in
person, donations of
newer (no older than two years) computer systems, office
furniture, or office supplies are
welcome and appreciated. Please call to
discuss.
